Anything that is meaningful to you is appropriate.  Music is hugely emotional and evocative.  It can hold and help recall so many memories.  Choosing the music for a Ceremony is a way of making it personal.  It can capture the essence of the individual, what they loved, and what they will always mean to you.  When a song comes on and you instantly think of your loved-one, then that’s the one!

I love hearing the music choices for Ceremonies, and I play that music to help me get a feel for the person they are for while I’m creating the Ceremony.  It is the background to my writing about them.  I’ve been introduced to some beautiful songs in this way over the years, and it has widened my own tastes.  I also often get songs stuck in my head as a result, but it’s worth it!  What’s the soundtrack to your life?  What would your theme be?
